texture

Old wood is perfect for this assignment because over time it wears away and leaves a nice rough surface. This picture would be very boring if it wasn't for the lovely texture.

These next two pictures are of an old piece of farm equipment that my grandpa put in the woods many years ago. To be honest i have no idea what it even is but it has some neat pieces to it. I like the way the light is hitting it and the old rust colors.

I mostly like this picture because of the shadows the sun made. the black and white makes it stan out even more.

Abandoned

For this assignment we got to shoot abandoned things. I really enjoyed it because I like taking pictures of old things and outside pictures so this was perfect for me. This is my favorite shot for this assignment. I like it because the old barn has holes where the windows used to be and there is an old clothes line that ivy is growing on. I think it makes you wonder how the barn used to be when it was once new and being used.

This is another one of  my favorites because it looks so mysterious. I like the little bit of old red paint still on the top of the barn and the way the light is hitting the inside of the barn. I wish i could have gotten the reds on the barn to pop out more but that is as good as i could get it.

This is another one I love. I mostly like it for the colors in it.  However, it also makes me think, this door probably hasn't been opened for years and it was more than likely used everyday when there was still cows on the property and now it just sits empty.  So this picture also makes me feel sad in a way.

Re-edits

I chose to make this picture black and white and boost the color a little bit. I think it looks a lot better than the kind of yellow tint it had before from shooting right at the sun.

I chose to crop this picture and make it sharper because before the grasshopper was barely visible and it was just a plain picture of corn. Now its a nice close up of a grasshopper.
This was probably my hardest to edit. I liked the way it was before with color too. I think it looks good both ways though.

AnImAl MoRpH

I really liked the animal morph assignment. At first i thought it would be really hard to do but it wasn't. the most difficult part was trying to get all the skin off the eyes but not take any lashes with it. In the end it turned out pretty well.

best of

How can you not love a kitty picture? thats why its one of my favorites and also be cause its a nice close up of he eye and whiskers. The curly fur gives the picture some nice texture also.
This is another one of my favorites. Cows are one of my favorite animals to take pictures of because the are so curious.I saw this one day before school while the cows were out in the pasture and i just had to take a picture of them.
I like this one because  of the lighting, without the  lighting this picture would be pretty ugly.

This is probably my favorite of all.  I like the fog in the back round and the colors of the trees in the line and also the reflections, so pretty much everything.
I really like the sky in this picture. However I think without the poles in  this picture it would be just another sunset picture.

different light

I chose this subject because i like the way the branches look in the night picture. The morning and noon pictures i don't like at all because they aren't that interesting.

patterns

This is the first example of patterns in nature.  I really like the way the mushrooms cascade down the tree trunk and the color of the moss. I think this picture would also look nice cropped so you just see the mushrooms.

This is another example of patterns in nature. I love the pattern on the trunk of this tree.  i would have liked to get a close up of one of the carvings but it kept getting blurry.

This is an example of a man made pattern. I like it mostly because of the angle but other than that its kind of a boring picture.

This is my favorite example of a man made pattern. Its actually a window of a tractor. I switched it to black and white because there wasn't much color in it anyways and it makes it more interesting. If it wasn't a cloudy day I would have liked to have gotten a picture with the sun shining through it.
